Donna Thomas Ashley, 71, entered into rest on Monday, March 30, 2026. Born in Barnwell SC, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Thomas and Ila Zuline Alsbrooks Thomas.

Surviving are daughters, April Jones (Todd), Cassidy Welch, Tracy Preece (Charles); grandchildren, Baylea Ashley-Hewitt, Houston Welch, Isla Jones, Rhett Jones, Gracyn Jones; sister, Vonnie McKenzie; special loved ones, Sabrina Wallace, Elena Jackman, and Bridget Clemens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William David Ashley, III; sisters, Lydia Linard; grandchildren, Patrick Preece, Austin Ashley.

If you knew her, you can just about picture her now—up in Heaven, smiling and trying to talk them into turning her water into wine.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, in the mausoleum chapel of Florence Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Landon Reynolds will officiate with burial in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
