Florence- Donald L.Owens,80,died in a local hospital on Saturday,March 5, 2016.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday,March 8,2016 in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Mr. Owens was born in Pelzer, SC, the son of the late Jamond and Margarite Sims Owens. Donald was a textile technician with Hollingsworth in the upstate.

He was married to the late Dorothy W. Owens for more than 60 years at the time of her death.

Surviving are a daughter, Cindy (Richard) Hewitt; a son, Todd (Susan) Owens; six grandchildren,and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Joel Owens; two sisters, Martha O. (Bill) Bennett, Monnie O. Hudson.
