Donald Travis Hunt, 69, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Born in Whiteville NC, he was a son of the late Ronald "Sam" Travis Hunt and the late Peggy Smith Hunt.

He was a graduate of East Carolina University and spent his professional career as a stockbroker before retiring. He was also a member of Rotary Club in Florence and was a member of St Paul Church for 30 years.

He was a strong man who faced life’s challenges with remarkable courage. Over the past 26 years, he battled and survived Non-Hodgkins lymphoma four times and survived sepsis twice. Through every illness and setback, he continued to fight with strength and determination. After all he had endured, God took him home peacefully. The family finds comfort in this fact.

While he was proud of his professional accomplishments and community involvement, his greatest joy was his family. He was immensely proud of his children and his six grandchildren. He treasured time with family, whether around a table talking or out on the water at Lake Wateree, where he was happiest in a boat. Family was at the heart of his life, and the memories they made together will be cherished always.

He was also known for his love of disco dancing with Corinne—a glimpse of the fun-loving spirit that made him so memorable to the people who knew him best. Don was an unforgettable figure in his children’s circles of friends and with his many nieces and nephews. He never hesitated to offer wisdom, a good story or a perfectly timed joke. He had a great sense of humor with a quick wit and had a way of making people laugh and keeping those around him entertained.

He will be remembered for his humor, his love of family, his friendships, and the many simple moments that made his life full and meaningful.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Corinne Dinnsen Hunt; sons, Reed Hunt (Julia), Carsten Hunt (Eden); daughter, Leah Parrott (Tyler); brother, Ronnie Hunt (Mary Lynne); sister, Nancy Beauchamp (David); grandchildren, Allison Hunt, Wells Hunt, Elsie Hunt, Corinne Parrott, Ty Parrott, and Griffin Parrott. He is preceded in death by his brother, Rocky Cox; and his parents, Sam and Peggy Hunt.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at St. Paul Church of Florence. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
