Obituary

Donald Marshall Boice, 76, of Timmonsville transitioned from life on this earth to his eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Mr. Boice was born in Kingston, NY, the son of the late Gordon S. Boice and Jane R. Boice.

Don was actively engaged in agriculture his entire life. He began in the dairy industry as a child on his family dairy in Kingston, NY and continued with a dairy operation and row crop farm in Timmonsville, SC.  He was Senior Vice President/Chief Relationship Manager for over 24 years with ArborOne Farm Credit until his retirement in 2016.   Don is a graduate of the South Carolina School of Banking. He served on the SC Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) Board, Darlington County Ag Advisory Board, Darlington 4-H Advisory Board and SC Ag Teachers Advisory Board. He was an active member and advocate with several Young Farmer organizations in South Carolina. He was awarded both a State and National Honorary Future Farmers of America (FFA) Degree for his work with the FFA students and FFA programs. He was a proud Vietnam era veteran with the US Air Force.    Mr. Boice was well known for helping others both personally and professionally. He never met a stranger and his love for people forged lifetime friendships. He was very proud that he was able to help others and had a special bond with many people in his community, church and profession.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Joan Boice; a brother David Boice (Jane); two sons, Marshall Boice (Cielo), Todd Boice (Rose) and a daughter, Jennifer Unekis (David); 3 grandchildren Todd David Boice (April), Katrina Boice Whitney (Patrick) and Reed Unekis; 2 great-grandchildren Hayli Boice and Andrew Boice.  He is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Morgan.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
