Lamar, SC – Don Edward Ansell, 82, passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Swamp Baptist Church.  The family will speak to those attending after the service .

Mr. Ansell was born in Washington, DC, the son of the late Harry E and Helen Eloise Agrafiotis Ansell.  He began his law-enforcement career as a Maryland State Trooper with this career culminating as Sheriff of Prince George's County Maryland.  After receiving his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Baltimore he began his own law practice.  Mr. Ansell and his wife of 58 years Frances Thompson Ansell retired in 2008 moving to Lamar, SC.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; two sons, Chris Ansell and  Don Ansell, Jr; a daughter, Debby Ansell Lantz; two sisters, Vivian Peregoy and Gloria Boykin; a brother, Harry R. Ansell; nine grandchildren, Justin Payne, Joshua Payne, Jonathan Ansell, Kaitlynn Ansell, Christopher Lantz, Keith Lantz, Shane Luckett, Joey Saul, Don Ansell,III and his three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Payne, Jacob Ryan Payne, Angel Ansell and a host of nieces and nephews.
