Scranton, SC – Derrick Allen Gaymon, 33, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from injuries sustained in a logging accident.

A graveside service will be Monday, Jan.18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Strickland-Feagan Cemetery in Lake City.  A drop-in visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  You are asked to wear a mask and social distancing will be observed.

Mr. Gaymon was born in Florence County, the son of Jerry Gaymon and Wendy Grady Carraway.  He was employed with Florence Dirt Works.

Surviving are his parents; daughter, Cindy Yarborough; sisters, Ashley Williams and Jessica VanHoose; fianceé Jennifer Thompson and her children, Emperatris Corea, Jaylin Corea and Makayla Thompson.  Derrick is preceded in death by his "Mom" Barbara B. Gaymon.
