IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debbie Ann
Scott
June 19, 1966 – November 17, 2025
Debbie Ann Scott, 59, entered into rest on Monday, November 17, 2025. She was born on June 19, 1966, at Southeastern General Hospital in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Debbie lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and a deep love for her family. She was the beloved oldest of four children born to Bobby and Joyce Hunt, and she embraced her role as big sister with grace, warmth, and a nurturing spirit. Educated in the Dillon County public school system, Debbie attended Latta High School. Throughout her life, she worked diligently and faithfully in every position she held, earning a reputation for her dependability, compassion, and willingness to help anyone in need. Debbie was a devoted member of Tabernacle in the Wilderness under the current leadership of Pastor Matthew Robinson. She's been a member since the age of twelve. Her faith carried her through life's joys and challenges, and she often shared encouraging words with those she loved.
Above all, Debbie cherished her children. Being a mother was her greatest blessing and her proudest calling. Her daughters, Cheyenne and Aubrey, along with her stepson, Matthew Kelly Bell, brought her immeasurable joy, and she carried each of them lovingly in her heart every day of her life.
Debbie leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Cheyenne Selena Bell and Aubrey Grace Beardmore, and her stepson, Matthew Kelly Bell; her parents, Bobby and Joyce Hunt; her siblings, Angela Bledsole, Connie Hunt, and Gabriel (April) Hunt; her partner, Gary Shawn Bell; nephews, Caleb Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Matthew Bledsole, Aaron Hunt, and Steven Hunt; nieces, Naomi (Michael) Jones and India Hunt; one great-niece, Neveah Hunt; and one great-nephew, Michael Jones IV. She also leaves behind her devoted best friends, Choune Sivilai and Greg Scott, along with a host of cousins, relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tracy Sr. and Addise Hunt; maternal grandparents, Addie Locklear and Stanford Locklear; uncles, Stant Locklear, Dwight Hunt, Harold Hunt, and Tracy Hunt Jr.; aunts, Gladys Squires and Edith Locklear; and cousins, Phillip Squires, Horce Locklear, Bruce Hunt, and William Hunt. Debbie's legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
