Florence, SC – Joseph Dean Welch, 83, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Funeral services will be Wednesday July 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Florence.  Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church before the service.

Dean was born in Florence County, the son of the late Glennie and Frances Anderson Welch. He served his country in the US Air Force.  He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.  Before retiring, he worked with Wickes of Timmonsville, Varina Lumber and  First Builders Source.  Most recently he drove for dealers picking up and delivering cars.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Johnnie Young Welch; son, Lyn (Sarah) Welch; daughter,Gaye (Chris) Hyman; sisters, Gayle Britt, Linda (Lavon) Matthews; brothers, Gerald (Joyce) Welch, Lanier (Catherine) Welch, Randy (Brenda) Welch, Bobby (Jeanette) Welch and five grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by a sister, Jean and brother, Clifford.
