IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David E
Maxham
January 3, 1954 – February 10, 2026
David E. Maxham, 72, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, after a 5-month, hard-fought battle with leukemia. Born on January 3, 1954, in Quincy, Massachusetts, the second child of Paul and Dorothy Maxham and brother to Douglas Maxham, Patricia Duncan, and Paula Earhart.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Julie Maxham, and his three cherished children: Diana Maxham, Lauren Gibeault and her husband, Michael, and Daniel Maxham and his wife, Amanda. He was a devoted grandfather, known as Papa to five grandchildren: Elliott, Hope, Annie, Hazel, and Harrison who brought immense joy to his life.
Dave's legacy lives on through the love and memories he shared with his family. His 36-year marriage to Julie was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and his role as a father and grandfather was one he treasured deeply.
After graduating from Penn State in 1975 with a degree in chemistry, Dave built a career in sales, where his natural charm, quick wit, and genuine ability to connect with others made him truly exceptional. He spent much of his professional life as a business owner, embracing remote work long before it became commonplace. After many wonderful years in Maryland, Dave and Julie chose to begin a new chapter together, heading south in search of warmer weather and new adventures.
An avid basketball player, Dave played the game he loved right up until five months ago—still able to run circles around players half his age. He had a deep love for travel and believed wholeheartedly that vacations were money well spent. Over the years, he explored more of the world than most ever will, creating memories and stories that he valued and eagerly shared.
Above all else, he loved Jesus. He was a devoted student of scripture and a faithful teacher of theology, believing that God's word had the power to shape and transform lives. He lived his faith unashamedly and intentionally, guiding his family in the way of Christ with humility, conviction, and love. He placed great value on the legacy he left behind, as his greatest hope was that his family would continue to love and pursue Jesus, walking in obedience, truth, and grace, with generations of lives surrendered to Christ. To him, there was no greater treasure.
Dave lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to his family and community.
