Florence- Daphine Chapman Strickland, 81, died at her home surrounded by her loved ones, Friday, June 10, 2016.

A funeral service will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will be at Florence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 2:00 prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Strickland was born in Hartsville, SC, the daughter of the late Tollie and Geneva Sparrow Chapman. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Daphine was employed with the Florence Public School System as a Food Service Secretary before retiring. She worked for many years with the Maranatha School Daycare.

She was married to the late Edward A. Strickland, Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Barry (Athena) Strickland, Hartsville, Edward "Allen" Strickland, Jr.(Brenda) Florence; three daughters, Sandra (Billy) Tweed, Florence, Beverly Fagan, Summerville, SC, Edna (Dennis) Conley, Farmington, New Mexico, thirteen (13) grandchildren, and (13) great-grandchildren and a special friend, Mrs. Tommy Gauntt. She is preceded in death by a brother, Myrtis Chapman.
