Florence, SC – Daniel E. "Dan" Porter, 54, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept.18, 2023.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Mr. Porter was born in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late James R., Sr. and Nancy Edwards Porter McLain. He served his country in the US ARMY.  Dan was a long distance truck driver after his tour of duty.

Surviving are two sons, Corey Porter, Matthew Porter; brother, James R. Porter, Jr; two sisters, Lynne Wolfe and Lorie Porter; his companion and mother of their children, Dawn Porter; Nephews, Joshua Hooper, Andrew Wolfe, Stephen Wolfe and James R. Porter, III; Niece, Lindsey Herman.
