Dale Lewis Grimes , 69, of Timmonsville, departed this earthly life and went to her heavenly home on Saturday evening, Jan 6. 2024.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday Jan. 11, 2024 in the chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. before the service at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Grimes was born in Darlington, SC, the daughter of the late Stephen Frank "Junebug" and Peggy G. Lewis.  She worked at the Lunn House and the Florence County Building Commission for a period of time.  Dale loved crafting and working with her hands.  Her family was the light of her life.

Surviving are her husband of 30 years, William Joseph "Joe" Grimes; daughter, Nicole Dudley Bethea; son, William Dwight Grimes; brother, Frank Lewis; sister, Patricia L Timmons; her grandchildren, Jackson Bethea, Nic (Erika) Bethea, Philip Bethea, Whitney (Jon) Medlin, Allie Grimes and two great grandchildren, Carston Bethea and McKenzie Bethea; a special granddaughter, Jessica Bellflowers and two life long friends, Shirley Stewart and Shirley O'Neal.  Dale is preceded in death by a son, Michael Kevin Dudley, and a brother, Michael Hubert Lewis.
