Florence- Curtis Britt - 74, died in a local hospital after a short illness on June 4, 2015 with his loving family at his side.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church, Florence. Interment will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, Florence.

Mr. Britt was born in Darlington, South Carolina, the son of the late Grady C. and Edith Hatchell Britt. Before retiring, Curtis was a Diesel Mechanic for American Bakery Company located in Florence. He was a member of Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years Louise Gibbs Britt, Florence; two sons, Kipp (Cassie) Britt, Mike (Desirae) Britt; a daughter, Angel (Jeff) Parsons all of Florence; two sisters, Ruby Ard, Timmonsville, Virginia (Allen) Hickson, Florence and his loving grandchildren, Bambi Britt, Ansley Parsons, Kipptin Britt. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Grady, Marion and James Britt and a sister, Doris Conyers.

The family would like to thank the McLeod Hospital 7th floor staff, the McLeod Hospice team, McLeod Cancer Center Staff and the Physician that cared for Mr. Britt and them during this journey.
