Obituary

Timmonsville- Clyde Wilson Galloway, 99, died in a Lumberton, NC hospital on Oct 21, 2016.

A funeral service will be Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Timmonsville, SC. Interment will follow in Byrd Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. before the service at the Church.

Mr. Galloway was born in Darlington County, the son of the late Furman Aubrey and Birdie Alice Hill Galloway. Clyde served his country in the US Army during WWII. After his tour of duty, he opened Galloway's Gulf Service. He was a smiling face to many in the Timmonsville area for twenty-five years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He served as deacon and Church Training teacher. He loved his church and worked faithfully in any capacity for the good of the church. Clyde was a member of the American Legion Post #47 in Timmonsville.

He was married to the late Capitola Quick.

Survivors are his daughter, Linda (LeRoy) Burke, a sister, Fannie Galloway; grandchildren, Noel Burke, Carrie (Chad) Kinlaw; great-grandchildren, Marlie (Coty) Courtney, Loren Kinlaw, Anslee Burke and Kaylee Burke. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Gaynelle Fleener; brothers, Carl, Marion, Ray and Harold Galloway and sisters, Hazel Allen and Mildred Galloway.
