Carolyn Wise Rowe, 91, entered into rest on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Born in Charleston WV, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Wise and Jennie Chisholm Wise.

Mrs. Rowe was a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in Education. She taught for many years in the Miami, Florida school system. She was married for 58 years to the late Ted Rowe.

She is survived by her sons, Todd Rowe (Sonya), Craig Rowe; brother, Nick Wise; grandchildren, Taylor Rowe Smith (Seth), Dalton Rowe; great-granddaughter, Charlotte “Lottie” Smith.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
