Florence- Carl Adrian Campbell, 72, died in a local hospital, Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at College Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 1:00 Saturday, before the service.

Mr. Campbell was born in Florence County, the son of the late Adrian and Leona Godfrey Campbell. After graduation, he attended Fresno University, Fresno, California and graduated from Florence-Darlington Tech with an associate degree in Business Administration. Carl worked in advertising sales with 33 years of service in the local newspapers before retiring. He served in the U.S. Navy & Naval Reserves for 12 years and served in Southeast Asia, and served in Vietnam twice. He received medals for his service in Vietnam and overseas. He was a member of the KIWANIS Club of Florence & the VFW of Florence.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Bessie "Bess" Richardson Campbell, Florence; son, Ty (Kathy) Campbell, Florence; brother, Grover (Gwen) Campbell, Manning; sister, Lillian Campbell, Charlotte. He also leaves his pets, "White Paws" and "SuSu." He is preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Campbell and a brother, Fred Campbell.
