Lamar, SC – Clyde L. "Frog"  Ward, Jr. 78, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Fair Hope Church Cemetery, Lamar.  The family will have a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mr. Ward was born in Florence County, the son of the late Clyde L. Ward, Sr. and Elizabeth Edens Ward.   He was retired from Sonoco Products with 36 years of service.

He started riding horses when he was 5 years and was happiest riding horses, whether on a trail ride or Mt. Rogers.

Surviving are his daughter, Vonda Turner; his son, Corey Ward; grandchildren, Hunter Ward, Dylan Ward, Keaton Ward, Montanna Ward, a great-grandchild, Saffron Ward; nephew, Jami Weatherford;  step-sister, Debra Culpeper, step-brothers, Johnny Bell and Richard Bell.  He is preceded in death by a sister, Laura Ward Weatherford.
