Hartsville – Billie Cox Wann, 84, formerly of Timmonsville, died on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at her home.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Layton Anderson Funeral Home in Florence, S.C. The family will visit with those attending after the service.
Billie was born in Conway, SC to Charles Moore and Belle Bryant Moore. She was a past president of the South Carolina Pharmaceutical Auxiliary and a member of several garden clubs. During her life, she worked numerous jobs including being a cosmetologist and in several positions at Pee Dee State Bank. Billie had a great love for all crafts. She was talented with a sewing machine and loved to paint with watercolors. Known as Nanny, by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she adored spending time with them. There was not a baby born that she could resist. Billie might be best remembered for her Chicken and Dumplings and her mean hand of Gin Rummy.
Billie is survived by daughters Brenda (Bob) Davis, of Lantana, TX and Rhonda (Fred) Spangler, of Timmonsville, SC; 5 grandchildren, Joelle Davis Hodges of Marietta, GA, Heidi Davis Cosio, of Lewisville, TX, Zack Davis of Corinth, TX, Ashley Hamer Hill of Timmonsville, SC and Paige Spangler Weaver of Timmonsville, SC, as well as 12 great grandchildren. She was formerly married to the late Marion Cox and the widow of Finis Wann of Poteau, OK. Billie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Howard Moore, Delmas Moore, Paul Moore, Betty White Cook and Bobby Moore.
In 2002, Billie contracted a severe case of Shingles that continued to plague her with recurrent pain for the remainder of her life. For this reason, she always encouraged everyone to obtain their Shingles vaccine.
