Betty Jo Ward, 87, passed away at her home surrounded by family Tuesday evening July 16, 2024.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville.

Betty Jo was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Wesley F, Sr.  and Lucille Campbell McElveen.  She was a member of Timmonsville Presbyterian Church.  Betty retired as an Insurance Agent with 48 years of service.

She was married to the late John Keener Ward, Sr.

Surviving are three sons, Johnny Ward, Woody Ward, David Ward; brother, Wesley McElveen, Jr and his wife Barbara; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Rentz; grandchildren, Wesley (Beth), Jennifer (Cory), Dustin (Kayla) Gavin and four great-grandchildren.
