Betty Lou Compton Weatherford, 84, entered into rest on Friday, June 26, 2026. Born in Timmonsville SC, she was a daughter of the late Clyde E Compton and the late Hazel Ann Hewitt Compton.

Betty was a member of High Hill Baptist Church. She was the owner/operator of Five Points Beauty Salon for over 40 years. She also worked with Florence School District One for 9 years as a special needs assistant. She will be missed dearly.

Surviving are her daughter, Celeste Swindel; stepchildren, Mary Ann McBride, Donald Weatherford (Nikki); grandchildren, Ross Procik, Will Procik, Benny Elvington, Luke Nichol; step-grandchildren, Ryan Weatherford, Bradley Weatherford; 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther C. Mitchell, Jr, Curtis M. Weatherford; daughters, Cheryl Procik, Christy Mitchell; granddaughter, Allison Procik; brother, Joe Compton.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Randy James will officiate with burial to follow in Byrd Cemetery.
