Florence, SC – Betty Arrington Holcomb Bridgers, 87, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at the McLeod Hospice House.
A graveside service will be Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Rowland Cemetery in Rowland, NC. The family will speak to those attending after the service.
She was a resident of Bethea Baptist Home in Darlington, SC and a Rowland, NC native, and daughter of the late Ollie Bernard Arrington and Hallie Bowling Arrington of Rowland.
She is survived by four children, Roger Holcomb (Sherry) of Fort Mill, SC, Ken Holcomb (Lisa) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Suzanne Price (Billy) of Lamar, SC, and Jeannie Montgomery and fiancée, Allan Tilley, of Durham, NC; four grandchildren, Blake Holcomb (Kellie) of Leland, NC, Leigh Anna Allen (Travis) of Winston-Salem, NC, Drew Holcomb of Fort Mill, SC, and Ryan Montgomery of Durham, NC, two great-grandchildren, Cameron Holcomb and Hallie Holcomb of Leland, NC; one brother, Jim Arrington (Dianne) of North Myrtle Beach, and several nieces and nephews, including Ben (Benjie) Arrington, of Florence, SC, who was a special and dedicated friend for the last several years. She was predeceased by husband, Audrey Holcomb in 1971 and husband Doug Bridgers, in 2001, and six siblings, Ben Arrington, Bob Arrington, Virginia Proctor, Gay Hinnant, Ruby Arrington and Nancy Ann Arrington.
She loved her children and family and enjoyed every moment spent with them. She was the happiest when her family was by her side and her toes were in the sand at the beach.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rowland, NC, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Rowland, NC @PO Box 397, Rowland, NC 28383.
