Benjamin F. Evans , 43, of Effingham, died in a local hospital Saturday, May 14, 2016 after an illness. A memorial service will be Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will speak to those attending after the service. Mr. Evans was born in Lenore County, NC. Surviving are his mother, Linda G. Strickland, father, James (Rhonda) Evans; his wife, Kimberly G. Evans; son, Christopher Evans; daughter, Ashlyn Evans; brothers, Bobby (Tammy) Evans, James (Dawn) Evans, Jr, Robbie Gean Evans; sisters, Cathy Jones, Becky Keefe, Leslie Sherer and many nieces and nephews.
