Barbara Oakley Hill, 91, peacefully left her earthly home and family on Saturday morning October 19, 2024 to be welcomed to her heavenly home.

The family will receive visitors and family on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  A private family service will be held at a later  time.

Mrs. Hill was born in Florence, the daughter of the late Ludie Edward and Aline Moore Oakley.  She was bookkeeper until retirement for Dr. Townsend Holt and Dr. Lewis Lowery.  Barbara was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

She was the wife of the late Willie "Max" Hill.

Surviving are her son, John Hill; daughter, Janet Rogers and Kenyon (Timmy) Powers; brother, Wayne (Linda) Oakley; sister, Annette Greschel and her grandchildren, Johna Hill,  Micah (Sara) Powers, Dawson Powers, Laurel (Zack) Miller, Jared (Carrie) Rogers and two great grandchildren, Millie Jayne Rogers, Fischer Lutcken and Milo and Rafe Powers.
