Florence, SC - Barbara June Hancock Dunbar, age 87, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at McLeod Medical Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.

She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Samuel and Nancy Hancock, as number six of seven children.  Her brother, John Dean Hancock, resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Galen F. Dunbar, of sixty-four years.  She was blessed with three children, Cheryl Joyce (Doug) Little of Nashville, TN, Rebecca Jean Dunbar of Charlotte, NC, and James William (Euvon) Dunbar of Russellville, AR; four grandchildren, Rachel Jean Little Whittenburg, Rebekah Jean Dunbar, Joshua Daniel Dunbar, and Samuel Joseph Dunbar; and one great-grandson, Grant Douglas Whittenburg.  She leaves us all feeling valued beyond measure and treasured beyond words.

Barbara's Celebration Service will be at Peace Free Will Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 6:00 with visitation following from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  She will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
