It is with great sorrow and also profound joy to announce that Auda Casteel Welch has gone to her heavenly home on Tuesday evening, June 3rd 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 on Saturday, June 7th at Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Timmonsville. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.

Auda, often affectionately known as "Auda Lynn" or "Audrey" was born in Bonnie Blue, Virginia to the late Garland and Pearl Casteel. She was one of seven children. After moving with family to South Carolina in her teens, she met the love of her life and husband of 59 years- HP Welch. Together she and HP had three beautiful children: David, Ned, and Tonya.

Auda was a determined woman. She received her high school diploma in 1967 and her Bachelor's Degree from Coker College in 1990. She was a loyal worker at Florence Darlington Technical College for 25 years. She was also an avid gardener, often found working in her garden, tending to her many flowers, or even on a riding lawnmower cutting acres of grass. Auda was well versed in the art of sharing. She felt that sharing something, especially time, was one of the best ways to show love to others. She shared her time, her love, and her cooking with just about everyone she met.

Her favorite things to do in life revolved around her family and close friends. Her children and her grandchildren were her greatest joys in life. She lit up with any opportunity to see them, especially when the entire family could be together. She was at her brightest after church on Sunday with her family, putting the finishing touches on a roast with her apron covered in flour, and listening to everyone laugh at HP's well intended jokes.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her loving children; sons David A. Welch (Patsy), Ned K. Welch (Marie); daughter, Tonya A. Kurtz (Chad); her sister Jeannette Long (Bob), her brothers, Bill Casteel (Karen), Wayne Casteel, her Sister in law Sandra Casteel (Rex), her grandchildren, Melissa Takach(Drew), Stacy Vanover (Chris), Kevin Welch (Claire), Josh Welch, Alexis Dempsey (Brock), Brice Fountain, Tyler Kurtz; and her great grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, Chloe, Kherrington, Allie, Anyston, Asher, Elle, Quinn, Patton, Tatum, Vayda, and Law.

She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Henry Pelton Welch, Junior; brothers C.B Casteel, Rex Casteel, sister Jewell Gainey(Jimmy) and her parents Garland and Pearl England Casteel
