Alma Kennedy Martin, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Heritage Home of Florence, South Carolina.

Born March 11, 1960, in Sumter, South Carolina, Alma was the only child of the late Archie E. Kennedy and Izola Lane Kennedy. She was a 1979 graduate of Kingstree Senior High School. A devoted homemaker, Alma's greatest joy was her family—especially her son, Brandon. She also had a deep love for animals and was known for her contagious laughter.

Alma lived with long-term illness for twenty-six years and was deeply loved by the many caregivers who supported her with compassion and faithfulness throughout that time.

She is survived by her son, Rev. Brandon Martin and his wife, Grace; her granddaughters, Paloma Delgado and Savannah Delgado, both of Salley, South Carolina; and two special cousins, Sara Beth Godwin of Kingstree, South Carolina, and Gayle Rogers of Sumter, South Carolina, who assisted with her care. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff of Heritage Home and Agape Hospice for their loving care.

In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William Walter Kennedy and Margaret Harrington Kennedy, and her maternal grandparents, Stuart Dutton Lane and Bessie Norton Lane.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Mount Vernon Methodist Church, 132 Mt. Vernon Rd., Greeleyville, SC 29056. The Rev. Phyliss Underwood will officiate.
