Florence, SC- Allen Eugene Jones, Sr. 76, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, Florence.  Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones was born in Florence, the son of the late Robert Newton and Irma Goodman Jones.  Allen was a graduate of Francis Marion University and received an MBA from the University of South Carolina.   He worked with Sonoco of Hartsville as the Human Resource Manager.  He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and bird watching.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Vera Taylor Jones; son, Allen E. (Patty) Jones, Jr.; daughter, Jackie (Mike) King; brother, Ricky (Nancy) Jones; four grandchildren, Lauren King, Ryan (Felicia) Jones, Sarah King, Colin Jones and a great-grandson, Rowan Jones.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Jackie and Mike King, 712 Lindsey Drive, Florence, Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
