Timmonsville- Albert L. Miles, 74, died on Thursday, May 14, 2015 after an illness.

A funeral service will be Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2 to 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Miles was born in Macon, Georgia, the son of the late Harvey Franklin Miles and the late Georgia Williams Miles. He attended Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church. He was a painter, plumber and did some tree removal during his working career.

He was married to the late Betty Ruth Miles . At the time of her death in 2014 they had been married for 50 years.

Surviving are two sons, Albert E. Miles, Phillip (Sandra) Miles all of Timmonsville; four daughters, Tammy (Raymond) Miles, Lynn (Dave) Turvin all of Timmonsville, Renea (Richard) Lyons, Pamplico, Tiffany (Joshua) Turvin, Florence; six sisters, Liddie Hayes, Lola Neil Morris both of Columbia, Laura Mae Miles, Cades, Gail (George) Green, Barrineau, Kathy (RoyLee) Coker, Katie Miles all of Olanta; six grandchildren,Tara Miles, Bridget Roberson, Michael Watts, Anna Miles, Zachary Turvin, Allen Stokes. Mr. Miles is preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, James, Nuke and William Miles, a sister, Linnie Matthews and a grandchild, Christopher Turvin.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Hospice, and specials thanks to his Caregiver, Candy Springs Morris and CNA, Vera Price for care given to their father during this time.
