Florence, SC – Joseph “Joe” S. Griffith, 87, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018.

A Funeral service will be Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.  in the Mausoleum Chapel at Florence Memorial Gardens.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. before the service in the mausoleum chapel.

Mr. Griffith was born in Harlingen, Texas, the son of the late Ray S. and Flossy Opal Stevens Griffith.  Joe served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict . He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Joe was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, he worked on the Honduras Mission Team, and he loved his work with Cooks for Christ.  He retired from General Electric in the final test department.

He was married to the late Louise Green Griffith.

Surviving are a daughter, Sonya (Fuller) King; brother, Troy (Dean) Griffith; daughter-in-law, Donna Howard Griffith and a grandson, Tyler (Michelle) King and his best friend, Betsy Morgan.   He is preceded in death by a son, Charles Ray Griffith, two brothers, Jerry and Edward Griffith. 

The family would like to thank his family of caregivers, McLeod Family Medicine, The Manor  and McLeod Hospice. 

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund, or the Honduras Mission Trip Fund. 524 S. Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC  29501.
